Editors Daily Crimson:
I am informed that the freshman foot-ball management has met all its expenses and has funds on hand to the amount of four hundred and fifty dollars. It is for the class to decide what shall be done with this surplus, and it would seem that to no other purpose could it more profitably be devoted than to the support of the freshman crew. I believe it has been the custom of some of the classes in former years, to use any surplus which may remain after the foot-ball season had closed for the foundation of a class fund. It has been by no means, the custom of the majority of the classes, however, to appropriate the surplus to the purpose just mentioned, and I think that Ninety-two would not be acting in opposition to an established precedent, if it were to vote the money to the crew management. Nothing is surer than that the crew will need the financial aid of every man in the class, and if the members vote to turn this amount over to the crew, they will show that they intend to furnish the financial support which is so necessary for the success of Niney-two's interests on the water.
