We publish to-day the provisional list of dates for the mid-year examinations. It will be noticed that the examinations begin this year several days earlier than formerly. The reason for this change is not stated; but as the time between the Christmas recess and the first examination is shortened only four days, it is not likely that any one will be inconvenienced by the new arrangement.
