Harvard Union.

LIBRARY BOOKS RESERVED.

The Harvard Union has already proved that it is no longer the feeble, lifeless society of past years, and the new enterprise which it has undertaken shows that its energy is not yet exhausted. The society has now arranged to have books reserved at the library for convenience of reference upon the various topics of debate. Several shelves in the alcove of the English department in the reading room are assigned to the Union, and as soon as each subject for debate is announced the leading books and magazine articles relating to the question will be collected there. In this way everyone will be able to get information for the debate without trouble and it is hoped that the general character of the debates will be raised, and more men will be induced to speak. The society is much indebted to Mr. Kiernan for permission to use the shelves, and for his kind assistance in selecting books.
