Owing to an unfortunate misunderstanding, the float at the boat-house has been taken up. As a result the members of the junior class crew will be unable to practice on the river during the early part of the coming month as they had hoped. It seems to us that in the future it would be policy to leave the float alone until an order comes from the captain of the 'Varsity crew to take it away, and if any class crew desired to use the float when there was danger of its being carried off by the ice, a bond sufficient to cover all damages could be left with the Bursar. It is a pity that such commendable energy in rowing matters should be nipped in the bud, and at a time, too, when the college needs plenty of good material from which to select the regular 'Varsity crew.
