The first creditable showing made by the 'varsity eleven this season was in the game with Wesleyan last Saturday. Few, excepting those on the football ground, knew under what adverse circumstances the team was forced to contend. The treatment received by the eleven at the hands of the Wesleyan students was shameful. A detailed account of the game and the incidents attendant upon it will be found in another column.
