The athletic associations of Princeton, Yale and Columbia have received invitations from the officers of the twenty-third Regiment of New York, to participate in the games of this regiment which are to take place shortly. Each of these colleges will send representative tug-of-war teams, the pulls to be governed by the intercollegiate rules, each team to weight six hundred pounds or less.
These contests are extremely popular in New York and always draw large crowds. In addition to these contests, there will be a one hundred yards dash and a half-mile run, open to all members of any college.
