The result of yesterday's game was more than the most sanguine could expect. The nine played an admirable game at the bat and a variable game - both brilliant and bad in the field. Our battery worked with wonderful effect and the whole nine showed snap and cool calculation at the right moments. Such a victory as we gained yesterday recalls our career on the diamond two years ago and makes us look to the final result of the series with more assurance. Every man in the nine should receive warm applause of the whole college.
It deserves to be noticed also that the spirit pervading the players and spectators throughout the game was of the pleasantest in every way. This fact lent a very agreeable tone to the contest.
