That consolidated nine is quite a scheme. It is well worth considering for next year, even if it amounts to nothing this year.

It is rumored that all the Yale professors have attended the circus now exhibiting in New Haven. It is so seldom that they have a respectable exhibition in New Haven that students and professors turn out in large numbers.

No report of the Brown-Harvard game had been received last night up to the time of going to press.

F. W. TAUSSIG.Messrs Sears and Slocum were beaten in the doubles in the New Haven Tennis Club Tournament by Messrs. Thatcher and Beach, two players belonging in New Haven. The score was 6 - 3, 6 - 4, and the result was a great surprise to everyone.

Dartmouth administered a severe defeat to the Amherst nine at Amherst on Tuesday. Dartmouth made twenty-one hits to her opponents nine. The errors were about evenly divided. The final score was twenty-one to seven. Several of the Dartmouth team made four hits each.

There was a great celebration at Andover over Andover's victory over Exeter. An extra number of the Phillipian was issued, with a half page cut in which were represented two porkers, one of which was dancing a jig, while the other was weeping freely. The latter of course represented Exeter.
