We are thankful for the suggestion given in the communication in another column. The facts to which it calls attention have surely been allowed to be facts only because they were not known to the college at large and the remedy suggested will do doubt recommend itself to every fair-minded man.

It is to be especially deplored that the manly and gentlemanly custom of cheering the opposing nine, whether victors or defeated, has fallen into desuetude. We are glad to have this opportunity of urgently calling for its revival. We trust that we shall have a chance to initiate this revived custom in our treatment of the defeated Princeton and Yale nines in the coming games.
