The two defeats of the first of last week had a marked effect upon the Lacrosse team. In Saturday's game they went to work with great snap and vigor, and ran up a score of 4 to 1 really against the team which beat them 3 to 1 last Monday. The men are shaking in well together now, but this fact should not make them over confident. The fine work done by Stevens at Hoboken last year must not be forgotten or under estimated between now and the game. This week should be spent in perfecting the team play which the twelve showed themselves capable of last Saturday.
We suggest that the lacrosse management place tennis or back-stop nets at the east end of Jarvis next Saturday in order that long chases after the ball may be avoided. It is very tedious for the spectators to have the game frequently called to a halt while the referee chases after the ball beyond bounds.
