Lacrosse.

HARVARD, 3; PRINCETON, 0.

The lacrosse game on Saturday was closely contested and exciting throughout, the score as is seen above was most satisfactory.

First Goal. - At the draw the ball went to Princeton's goal and was held there for a short time by accurate passing, when it went to the other end of the field our defence promptly returned it. This was repeated again and again. The play on both sides was remarkably clean; there was little fumbling. Harvard kept possession of the ball well, but Princeton covered very closely and prevented many clear shots. After about forty minutes play our attack made a brace; they squirmed in and around the Princeton men quite easily, and after a number of unsuccessful tries secured a goal from a short throw. Time, 47 minutes.

Second Goal. - The ball was faced after a short rest. Princeton captured it; she had changed several of her men around, and during the next five minutes the closest playing of the game was seen, but Harvard was clearly superior at every point, and worked the ball carefully from man to man. The attack work was fine at this stage, and resulted in a second goal, thown skillfully through a small opening between the defence men. Time, 7 minutes.

Third Goal. - The ball went into Harvard's possession at once, and in less than a minute was thrown between Princeton's flags by one of the homes. Some five minutes remained, during which Harvard held the ball well but failed to score.

The game throughout was well played on both sides, several fouls were allowed, but they were accidental probably on both sides. All three goals were thrown by Dudley. It is impossible to say who did the best work for Harvard without committing a bull and naming every man on the team. Following are the twelves and their positions:
