We should like to call the attention of every student to the notice on the grouping of electives which we publish in to-day's issue. This notice is the result of much thought on the part of the faculty. There is no doubt but that the present system of grouping courses has its drawbacks and could bear revision. Many students come here with the intention of pursuing a special course of study and are obliged to drop one or more courses because they discover that there is a conflict in the arrangement of examinations. Notable among these difficulties has been the arrangement of English 6, 7 and 8. But now, it seems, these evils are to be done away with, and a thorough revision of the grouping system made. Great praise is due the members of the faculty, especially Prof. Macvane, for their earnest endeavors towards remedying this evil.
