The following review of some of the competitors in the various events of the intercollegiate games and the probable winners may not be uninteresting, owing to the increased interest felt in track athletics by the university.
The 100-yard dash probably lies between E. H. Rogers, '87, of Harvard and C. H. Sherrill, Jr., '89, of Yale, both of them comparatively new men. Rogers beat Sherrill last year, by six inches according to the partisan decision of the judges. J. P. Elton, '88, of Trinity, claims fast time, also, in this race.
The 220-yard dash appears to lie between the same men, though S. G. Wells, L. S., Harvard, is also a fast man at this distance. He is expected to take the quarter-mile with A. Coit, '87, of Yale, or J. F. McGuire, '90, second.
R. Faries, M. S., University of Pennsylvania will have no difficulty in taking the half-mile, if he decides to run this distance, although G. P. Cogswell, '88, of Harvard, will push him close.

The mile walk will probably be taken by H. H. Bemis, '87, or Wright, L. S., of Harvard. Bemis took second place in this contest last year.

The high jump will, of course, fall to W. B. Page, '87, University of Pennsylvania, the champion of America.

A. B. Coxe, '87, of Yale, will probably take both the hammer and shot; Rohrbach, of Lafayette, competing with him for the shot, and Brinton and Gibson, of Harvard, for the hammer.
The tug-of-war for several years past has been taken by Harvard, and she will probably keep up her record in this event this year. - Yale News.
