The University of Pennsylvania is to have a new library building, and the ambitious intention is to make it capable of holding no less than 330,000 volumes. Some $50,000 is already in hand to start the work, and now the university people are hoping to be able to attach to the building an alumni hall something like Sanders Theatre, where all the public exercises of the institution can be held and classical plays by students rendered.- Tribune.

The books of Cambridge apothecaries holding sixth-class licenses, containing the public record of their sales of liquor, are being carefully examined by the authorities, with a view to ascertaining whether the conditions of the law have been violated.
