We wish to speak a few words for the Harvard Monthly. A certain member of this University was heard to remark a few days ago, "Why don't we have a paper here as good as the Yale Lit?" Now, it was either that distance lended the speaker enchantment, or else he had never perused the Harvard Monthly with scholarly care, for if he had done so he would never have compared it unfavorably with the literary paper at Yale. There are many men here who might have made the same remark. Before they jump at conclusions, it might be wise if they would read some of their own college papers.
