To-day comes the first decisive test of the work done by our eleven this fall. In spite of the fact that injuries had rendered many of the most promising candidates for the team unfit for playing, Captain Holden had gotten together an eleven of which the University might be proud. But now at the last moment we are crippled sorely by the loss of Sears and Cumnock, whose services can ill be spared.
Nevertheless, in spite of this misfortune, we are confident that the eleven that Harvard sends to the contest today will make a showing of which no one need be ashamed. But whether Harvard wins to-day, or whether she loses, highest praise is due those men who have worked so faithfully all the fall for the glory of their college.
