Mr. J. R. Jewett, who is giving instruction in Arabic and Hebrew during Professor Toy's absence in the East, is a Harvard graduate of the class of '84. Since his graduation he has continued his study of the Semitic languages in Egypt and Syria. He has made himself familiar with the life in these places, and this winter will give some public lectures on the subject.
