The Glee Alumni of Washington, tendered a banquet to president Dwight last Wednesday. President Cleveland was invited, but was compelled to decline on account of his health. All the members of his cabinet were present except Secretary Lamar and Attorney-General Garland. In addition to these were senator Evarts, senator Dawes, senator Hawley and a host of other prominent men. Colonel J. Edwards Clarke replied to the toast, "The Harvard Poet's tribute to Yale." Much enthusiasm was manifested at every speech.
