Brown University expects to get $225,000 from the will of Mr. Lyman, a former student of that college. Part of this bequest will probably be devoted to the erection of an Observatory or a gymnasium.

Princeton men say that they could put a very strong nine in the field next spring if they can succeed in finding a good catcher. Brownlee, '89, who caught part of the season last year, is reported to have improved greatly and will probably catch again this year.

The Boston Latin School class of '85 ate its third annual dinner last evening at Young's. Twenty members were present. S. R. Dunham presided. These officers were elected: President, F. E. Parker; vice-president, F. F. Cutler; secretary and treasurer, W. H. Thayer; poet, E. L. Brown; toast-master, W. L. Gay.

The delegates to the D. K. E. Fraternity Convention, held at Washington last week have returned and report having a most successful and enjoyable time. All the delegates were taken in carriages about the city, first to the Capitol, where they were received by senator Sherman, president of the Senate, and speaker Carlisle, in their private rooms. Next they were taken to the White House and enjoyed a private reception by President and Mrs. Cleveland, after which they were driven around the city. In the evening the annual banquet was held at the Willard Hotel, which all the delegates and Washington members were present; Ex-Governor Long of Massachusetts presiding as toast master.
