We would like to comment on the notice which appeared in a recent issue of the CRIMSON, stating that the sophomore dinner must be given up on account of the small number of men who have signed for it. By this the class of '88 are letting go unnoticed one of the oldest Harvard customs. It is quite easy to make the excuse just at this time of annual examinations. But the dinner should have been held early in the spring. It was simply negligence and lack of interest which has delayed the dinner. Let the dinner take place at once, and let the negligence be repaired. Set a date near the end of the term, and then let a hundred and fifty names be signed at once. Let not the present sophomore class disgrace the college by its lack of class interest and class pride.
