The preliminary competition for the Boylston Prize Speaking will occur this week. About thirty men will compete. We publish in another column the order of the competition. We will publish the list of the successful contestants on Saturday. We are desired to say that great care should be taken that each piece shall not exceed five minutes in time of delivery. Although this may seem a very short time to each speaker, it is probable that the time of the whole programme will seem far from short. The contest promises to be very spirited, as many good speakers have entered.
