The nine left for Williamstown last Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock and were accompanied by so small a delegation of students that as far as support went, their presence availed absolutely nothing. Friday night was spent at North Adams, but early Saturday morning the team was driven over to Williams town in a coach. The reception which was given on their arrival was a most cordial one and the Williams men did all in their power to make the visit of the opposing nine a pleasant one. At one o'clock the game was called while the clouds which enshrouded the surrounding mountains seemed to presage a repetition of the Yale and Amherst ???. A strong wind was blowing from left field and the air was damp and chilly. The pitching was thus more uncertain than usual. Both ??? and Nichols seemed to have much difficulty in making their curves confirm to the fitful gusts of wind. The outfield was very soft, and many of the base hits would have been good for two basers on a hard field.
Williams went first to the bat. Eastman got his base on a fumble by Wiestling, stole second, but was put out on an attempt to get to third. Tuck got his base on balls, but was forced out at second by Perry's hit. Burden knocked to Edgerly, who fielded him out at first. Harvard went to the bat and Wiestling was put out at first by an assist of Blackington. Smith got his base on an error by Campbell, reached third on a wild pitch, end came home on Allen's base hit. Phillips had in the meanwhile got his base on balls, had stolen second and came home on the same hit of Allen's. Willard had fouled out to Eastman, and Allen was put out in trying to steal second. For Williams, Blackmer and Safford struck out, and Blackinton flied out to Foster. Foster went to the bat and flied out to Campbell at second. Henshaw knocked safely, stole second and came home on Nichols' hit. Edgerly had previously struck out. Nichols got his second and made the fourth run on Weistling's long base hit. Smith got his first on a base hit which brought Wiestling to the plate. Phillips struck out with Smith left at second. Wallace and Campbell both flied out to Wiestling. Eastman got his base on an error, stole second, but Tuck fouled out to Phillips, and Williams had failed to score. For Harvard, Willard got his base on balls, and Allen made a two bagger, which brought in Willard, Foster struck out, Henshaw got his base on balls, Edgerly and Nichols were fielded out at first and Harvard went to the field with Allen at third and Henshaw at second. Edgerly fielded out Perry at first, Burden flied out to Henshaw, Blackmer got his base by a fumble of Wiestling's, but was left there by Safford's striking out. Wiestling struck to Campbell and was fielded out at first. Smith got his base on balls, Phillips flied out to Tuck and Smith was forced out at second by Willard's hit. The score at the end of this inning was 6 to 0 in favor of Harvard.
The fifth inning opened with Blackinton at the bat. He got his base on balls, Wallace flied out to Edgerly, and Campbell struck out. An overthrow to first was made in attempting to field out Eastman, and Blackinton scored. Another run came in on a wild throw by Nichols. Tuck made a base hit to right field. In running for it, Henshaw fell and hurt his knee. His place was taken by Choate. Perry was fielded out at first. In this inning Harvard scored two more runs on errors Nichols made a hit, but was left at third. Williams was again shut out by an assist by Wiestling, a strike out, and an assist by Phillips. In this inning Harvard added three runs to her score on hits by Phillips, Willard, Allen and Foster. In the next inning Williams made her second base hit, but failed to score, owing to assists by Edgerly and Wiestling, and by a strike out. In the seventh inning Harvard earned a run on Nichols's two-baser and Wiestling's single. For Williams, two men got their bases on errors, but two men struck out and Edgerly fielded out the third at first. Harvard made her thirteenth run on hits by Allen and Edgerly, and a passed ball by Eastman. Williams was quickly shut out in the ninth inning, and the game was won. The features of the game were the fine work of the Harvard battery, both in the field and at the bat, the catching of Eastman who held Tuck's wild throws with great pluck. Edgerly's play at second is also worthy of special notice. The following is the score:

BRAINTREES, 14; EIGHTY-NINE, 1.The freshmen were defeated by the Braintrees on Saturday by the score of 14 to 1. '89 was minus the services of some of their best men, and this, with Bingham's wild pitching, was the cause of their defeat. The latter gave eight men bases on balls and nearly every one of them scored. The ground was very poor, the pitchers box being on quite a hill, compared with home plate, and this may have been the cause of the wild pitching. Tuttle pitched a good game for the Braintrees, only being hit for five singles and striking out eight men. Hurley played well at first base. The following is the score by innings:
