The first championship game is played this afternoon at Providence. Of course we hope it will be a victory for Harvard, but, because everything in base-ball is so uncertain, we can venture no prophecies. And yet the college has good reason to expect a successful outcome of to day's game. The nine has shown up well the past few days, and has already defeated Brown severely. Careful play throughout, confidence, but not over-confidence, ought to win for the crimson the first game of the championship series.
