The Advocate and our correspondent this morning make rather violent attacks upon the Harvard Union, attacks which we are not ready to support ourselves. We do not think the Union is all that it might be, nor is it in every way judiciously managed; but we do think that the Union is successfully supplying what it is intended to supply, a good opportunity for training in extempore speaking. Still the evils which the Advocate and our correspondent so exaggerate, do exist in some degree, and, as far as they can be cured, they should be cured.
