We are glad to see that some action has been taken by the base-ball management in regard to class games. A series of games will be of great advantage in bringing out men, and may result in producing some good players. With '86 the nine loses four of its best players, and the three lower classes are expected to fill these positions next year. The idea of offering a cup for the best pitching record is an especially good one, and may bring out a man who, with coaching, may fill this position next season. As it looks now there is no man who can be depended on to fill the position creditably. We would urge all who have played ball to try for their class nines.
