It is a matter for commendation that the Cricket Club is thus early awaking to activity. The attempt to secure suitable grounds for practice is a good sign. Aside from the fact that the ground used by the club last year was extremely poor for the purposes of the game, it is also true that the playing seriously conflicted with the other sports. That the club deserved credit for its unusual energy last serson is not to be doubted. We think, however, judging from present reports, that greater credit is to be won this season, simply by reason of greater energy. To the men interested in cricket, and especially to those who engage in the game, we extend our best wishes. We hope that their club will more than merely live during the coming year.
