The crew benefit, to which many references have already been made in our columns, has not yet received as enthusiastic a reception as we believe it deserves. At least the sale of tickets has been comparatively small. Perhaps the enthusiasm has been merely dormant, and is to awake to much greater intensity during these last three days of the week. Most earnestly do we hope that this is the case. That the meeting in the gymnasium next Saturday will be interesting and entertaining, we do not doubt. Its novelty, variety, and purposes ought to interest every man in college. The opportunity of seeing, and of showing to one's friends the sort of work that is done in the gymnasium, is an opportunity that should not be disregarded. But the character and value of the meeting aside, to Harvard men there should be a third consideration. The meeting is given as a benefit to the crew, and as such alone deserves not only support, but general and enthusiastic support from all members of the university.
