It is to be hoped that the cricket club will display more energy in the coming athletic season than they did last year. The managers of the club ought to succeed in having a turf crease laid out on Jarvis and in securing some time for practice. The men should go out together and practise playing as a team, instead of simply going out in groups of two or three and practising bowling. More attention must be paid to field playing if the few games which may be played are to be at all interesting for the spectators. Although the club exhibited laudable enterprise last year, there is still much room for improvement.
