The new testing machines have arrived at the Scientific School. One tests the compressibility of cement and the other the strength of wire, to the extent of 60,000 lbs. They are very delicate in construction and extremely accurate. The Scientific School has shown commendable enterprise in purchasing the machines, and seems to be making a decided improvement in every direction this year.
