At a meeting of the junior class, held Thursday evening, February 18th, 1886, it was voted that Messrs. F. Remington, A. B. Potter and D. P. Griswold be a committee to draw up resolutions upon the death of their classmate, George Carswell Baker.

They submit the following:

Whereas, Under the dispensations of Providence our classmate, George Carswell Baker, has been suddenly removed from us.

Resolved, That words are scarce able to convey the sense of sadness and sorrow that the melancholy news of his death brought to his old associates.

Resolved, That in his loss we mourn a man of good natural talents and handsome acquirements, conciliating in his manners, generous and benevolent in his disposition, and amiable in the whole tenor of his conduct.

Resolved, That in lamenting the death of a classmate possessing such qualities, not his numerous and ardent friends only, but we as a class must deeply deplore his loss.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be sent to the family of our deceased classmate as an expression of our sincere sympathy in their great bereavement.
