It is with great regret that we open our second volume this year without being able to take on a freshman editor, as is our usual custom; the contributions have been so insufficient that we cannot conscientiously take any one on who has written so little. There ought surely in a class of 250 men to be some who are able to express their ideas clearly and concisely, or who can write an interesting first page article, - not necessarily long, but pointed and interesting. It ought to be a point of pride to '89 men to see that this position is filled before the base-ball season, so that their class may receive its representation when it becomes necessary to praise or to blame.
