NEW FOOT-BALL LEAGUE.

Delegates from Amherst, Brown, Dartmouth and Trinity colleges, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stevens Institute of Hoboken, N. J., met at Springfield Tuesday and organized a new foot-ball association. Representatives were present from Williams and Tufts colleges, but a motion inviting them to help organize the new association being lost, they refused to apply for admission. The new organization will be called the Eastern Foot-ball Association, and two meetings a year will be held, on the first Wednesday in October and December. A constitution presented by W. F. Morgan, jr., of Trinity, was adopted with some modifications, which states that the championship must be decided by a percentage of games won and lost, and that a referee must be agreed upon by the two contesting teams, and no protests will be allowed from his decisions. Camp's foot-ball rules were adopted, with modifications to be made at the first meeting. These officers were elected: President, George C. Dempsey of Massachusetts Institute of Technology; vice-president, C. S. Houghton of Amherst; secretary, W. F. Morgan jr., of Trinity; treasurer, B. F. Hart of Stevens Institute. - Herald.
