The one hour examination in Physics B is postponed from the last Wednesday before Christmas to the first Wednesday after New Year's. Dr. Hall will be at the Laboratory the following extra hours: Thursday, Dec. 16th, from 4 to 6; Monday, Dec. 20th, from 4 to 6.
The American Protective Tariff League has offered three prizes for the three best essays on The Advantages of a Protective Tariff to the Labor and Industries of the United States. The first prize is $250, the second $100, the third $50. There is a pamphlet posted in University explaining more fully.
The freshmen have organized a banjo club consisting of four banjos, three guitars and three mandolins. The playing of the club is said to be exceptionally fine. If this be true, the college will be pleased to hear from '90 in this respect.
The Harvard Union Debate takes place this evening at 7.30 in Sever 11 The question for discussion is "Resolved: That the Civil Service Reform under the present administration is a failure." The regular disputants are, affirmative, C. R. Saunders, L. S., J. M. Merriam, L. S.; negative, E. T. Sanford, L. S., E. J. Rich, '87.
