The run yesterday was one of the most pleasant and successful that have ever been held. The afternoon was mild and the air not too cool. Although but little public notice had been given of the run, about twenty-three men started. Messrs. H. H. Bemis, '87, and E. A. Thompson, '87, were the hares. The start was made at 3.30 p. m., the hares being given seven minutes and having to gain fifteen. Mr. T. C. Craig, '87, was Master of Hounds.
The course lay through Norton's woods almost straight to College Hill; through the college grounds to North Avenue and back by way of West Somerville to Porter's Station where the break for home was made. The bags were found. The hares won by nearly half an hour. The first hare in was F. B. Dana, '88. H. Kuhn, '87 was second. There will be as many more hunts as the weather will allow.
