The decorations on Beck Hall and Hilton Block are especially fine. The side of Beck Hall facing Harvard square is resplendent with the gay colors of the different classes, above which the figures 1636-1886 stand out in bold relief.

The oldest graduate at the time of the two hundredth anniversary was the Hon. Paine Wingate, of the class of 1759, who died in 1838. He was a class-mate of Dr. Joseph Warren, who fell at Bunker Hill.

As it would be impossible to accommodate all the graduates and guests of the University at Memorial Hall, the faculty have seen fit to allow a first-class caterer to serve meals in Massachusetts Hall. How sadly the vicissitudes of life have fallen upon poor old Massachusetts! Used at first as a dormitory, then turned into a lecture hall, it has finally evolved into a restaurant.
