At President Eliot's reception tomorrow evening, Sir Lyon Playfair will present the greetings of Edinburgh University, which he represents, and Prof. Lanciani will do the same in behalf of the Italian government.
The extra editions of the Lampoon and the Advocate were out yesterday. Both are exceptionally good, and evince a strong desire on the part of the editors to make their present numbers especially interesting and entertaining.
Several graduate class dinners were held in Boston last Friday. The classes of '58 and '85 had their reunion at Parker's, '79 and '82 at Youngs', while the class of '84 dined at the Quincy House.
Up to 11 o'clock a.m. yesterday, 1238 graduates and visitors of the university had registered. Of these, 186 registered between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. yesterday morning, among whom were: Asaph Hall, Prof. of Mathematics, U. S. Navy, William DeW. Hyde, Pres. of Bowdoin College, Edward King '53, George D. B. Pepper, Pres. of Colby University, George W. Smith, Pres. of Trinity College, and the Rt. Hon. Sir Lyon Playfair, M. P., Delegate from Edinburgh University. Henry M. Buckham, Pres. of the University of Vermont.
