The first number of the Latin School 'Register' is out, and the editors are to be congratulated on the improved typographical appearance of the paper.

The first section in elocution will meet Mr. Hayes to-day at 2 o'clock. All students are requested to bring Lowell's "Vision of Sir Launfal" to the class room in Holden Chapel. Copies of the poem may be obtained at Sever's.

It is recommended that all future senior classes be allowed to hold their class day elections in Sever 11, instead of Boylston. The heat last night was almost overpowering.

The Yale News claims that the track athletics of the college never looked so promising as at present, and that the students are confident of having the Mott Haven cup next year.

J. W. Brine's contract to furnish goods at a discount to all members of the Co-operative will soon expire, and suggestions from members as to a successor will be thankfully received by the management.

On Monday the candidates for the university crew began practice on the river. An eight composed of Adams, stroke, Hale, Alexander, Davis, Hight, Perry, Parker and Keyes, took a practise spin up the river.

As the Reading Room of last year did not prove to be very successful, no plans have been made for the formation of another reading club this year. There is no indication of the matter being taken up again.

We would inform our readers that the doors leading from the main hall of the gymnasium into the dressing-rooms are not locked. It is only a fresh coat of varnish that has fastened the wings of the doors together.

In the annual cane-rush on Friday between the Columbia sophomores and freshmen, the latter won the cane after a severe struggle. This is the first time that the freshmen have defeated the sophomores in seven years.
