It has been the custom in past years to elect to the CRIMSON an editor from the freshman class at the period of the mid years. As election to an editorship is wholly competitive, all members of the freshman class who desire to be considered candidates for the position, are asked to contribute to our columns. Editorials, special first page articles, and communications upon any subject of interest to the university, will be accepted and published if deemed of sufficient merit. It is desired that the competition be made as general as possible, and for this reason we again publish this request. Considerable interest has already been manifested, but we wish that it may be still more widespread. Let no student feel backward about contributing since an equal opportunity is afforded to all. The training obtained is highly valuable in being purely that of practical journalism.
