At the recent meeting of the Yale Alumni in New York, a vigorous discussion was maintained relative to the condition of Yale College. The facts that the Yale graduates are sending their sons to other colleges, and that the number of students is decreasing show conclusively that something is not as it should be. All efforts to locate this something in any characteristic of Yale's government other than her tendency to old fogyism, merely beg the question. Harvard's prosperity since adopting the new ideas, and Yale's present dilemma, taken together show where the trouble is.
