Our esteemed contemporary, the Advocate, makes a suggestion in its last number which is timely and worthy of consideration. Civil service reform is attracting much attention in political life at present, and with justice. It is the important question of the day. College men, and we refer particularly to Harvard undergraduates, have little or no real knowledge of the right and wrong of the matter, and the Advocate's suggestion of a course of lectures on the subject by prominent civil service reformers, is very pertinent. Cannot the authorities of the college, or some one of our energetic societies, take the matter up and give us a course of interesting lectures by prominent specialists?
