The winning of the inter-collegiate championship was, in itself, honor enough for the lacrosse team, but when that achievement is supplemented by the capture of the Oelrichs cup, emblematic of the championship of America, the college may justly feel proud of its representatives in this sport. The work of the twelve during the past year has been faithful and hard,- its result has been shown in the series of almost uninterrupted victories won from strong teams. The lacrosse team of '82 held both the college championship and the Oelrichs cup; the '83 team held the collegiate championship only; the '84 team failed to hold anything; but the lacrosse twelve of '85 has equalled the record of '82 by winning both important events.
