BASE BALL NOTES.

In the inter-collegiate series on Saturday, Yale defeated Amherst 14 to 2, and Princeton defeated Dartmouth 7 to 5.

Exeter gained her first victory over Andover since '82 at Exeter yesterday, by a score of 9 to 1. W. B. Phillips acted as umpire.

An extra game will be played between Yale and Princeton at New Haven during commencement week.

Games this week: To-day, Brown at Harvard; Wednesday, Harvard at Providence (exhibition); Friday, Amherst at Hanover; Saturday, Yale at Cambridge. Mr. Donovan will umpire at all of these games.

The nine will play as follows to-day: Nichols, p.; Allen, c.; Willard, 1b.; Smith, 2b.; Wiestling, s. s.; Foster, l. f.; Edgerly, c. f., Winslow, r. f. Tilden, the regular l. f., will not play with the nine any more this year.

Winslow, captain of the Harvards, is the most strategic of the college pitchers. His record against the Williams nine Wednesday, when but one hit was made off him, was the model exhibition of the season.- Herald.
