About forty freshmen accompanied their team to New Haven yesterday to see it badly beaten. The weather was stormy in the morning, and, although it cleared a little in the afternoon, the sky was threatening during the entire game. There was a good audience at the field, which effectively cheered its nine at every available point; and, although some few manifested a disposition to cheer errors, they were promptly hissed by their classmates, who showed a gratifying disposition to treat our men fairly throughtout. The game from the outset was very onesided: the Yale men played a faultless fielding game, batted cleanly and hard, and were supported most effectively by their pitcher, but three hits being made off his delivery. Our men played a listless game from the first, making frequent errors, and failing utterly to fathom Heyworth's curves. After the game the excited Yale men marched in and took possession of their fence, surveyed by a curious crowd of visitors. This ceremony concluded, they gave a very enjoyable dinner to the Harvard men who accompanied the nine, which was rendered all the more enjoyable by the reading of dispatches announcing our victories at New York and Princeton. For Yale Heyworth, Lux, Allen, and Kellogg did the best work, while Austin and Choate easily bore off the honors for Harvard. Following is the score:
