Prof. Shaler leaves Cambridge to-day for Middlebury, Vt. He goes in the interests of geological study, and has invited students who are interested in Geology to accompany him.

The nominations for the Parker and Kirkland scholarships were made at the meeting of the Academic Council, Friday, April 24. No nominations were made for the Walker Fellowship.

The storm of the last two days has interfered with many of our out-door sports. The shooting match, the bicycle ride to Auburndale, and the Harvard-Cochituate game which were to take place yesterday, have all been postponed.

The '86 Phi Beta Kappa has elected the following officers: Recording secretary, J. H. Huddleston; first marshal, J. N. Palmer; second marshal, E. N. Snyder. The marshals and W. F. Osgood will serve as a dinner committee.

The election at Memorial last night, resulted as follows. For President, J. M. Merriam received 442 votes; O. B. Roberts, 25; C. C. Burnett, 22; scattering, 36; for Vice-President, E. J. Rich, received 170 voies; F. Vogel, 146; J. M. Thompson, 106; R. F. Rogers, 95; scattering, 16. As no candidate for the Vice-presidency received a majority, an election will be held at lunch to-day with Messrs. Rich, and Vogel as candidates.
