We publish to-day a very interesting and factions letter giving an account of the trials and tribulations of a West Point cadet, written by a-former member of the junior class at Harvard. The rigorous training of a cadet at a military academy is in sharp contrast to the freedom of action which is allowed at institutions of literary learning in this country, but undoubtedly the only way to make good and efficient army officers is to have the cadets subject to such severe discipline as gradually to accustom them to the hardships which they must endure in active service. In a few days we shall publish a similar article from a naval cadet at Annapolis, where possibly the discipline is more strict, and the duties more arduous.
