The first game of the season came off on Jarvis field, Saturday afternoon The weather was too cold for a good game, but in spite of this our men made a creditable showing. Allen was unable to play owing to an injury to his ankle, so Jones and Palmer of the freshman nine formed the battery for the first six innings, after which Winslow occupied the box. Thomas pitched well for the Techs, but was poorly supported. There was a fair-sized audience.
