It was the misfortune of the section in History 13 to lose one month of valuable instruction at the beginning of the year through the illness of Dr. Hart. In order to make up for lost time, the lectures have been condensed, and it is occasionally necessary to omit the discussion of some important question. As abridgment of this course is unfortunately unavoidable, every available minute should be seized upon to make this abridgment as slight as possible. Owing to the size of the class, however, which consists of over one hundred men, the instructor is obliged to spend valuable time in marking the absent, and is rarely able to begin the lecture until ten or twelve minutes past the hour. We, therefore, urgently recommend that a monitor be appointed in History 13.
