The Rev. John E. Todd in his tirade against the present curriculum at Yale, sums up his attack as follows: "A medley-a smattering of language, sciences and subjects, not one of which is there any solid foundation laid for future acquirements, mingled with a thorough acquaintance with the rules of athletic games, the composition of mixed drinks, and the mysteries of poker-such is the present college education."
