At a meeting of the President and Fellows of Harvard College, in Boston, February 16, 1885,
A petition was received from a large number of students asking that attendance at morning prayers be made voluntary for undergraduates twenty-one years old, or over, and optional, according to the wishes of their parents or guardians, for undergraduates who are under twenty-one years of age-
and it was
Voted that the petitioners be informed that the President and Fellows are not willing to grant their petition.
