The students of still another inland institution of learning have been forced to make a stand against the oppressive restrictions laid upon them by the faculty. Last Saturday, ten cadets of the Highland Military Academy at Worcester, Mass., sent word to the faculty that, unless they were allowed to visit the theatre, the skating rink, and a certain billiard room on their afternoons out, they would leave the academy. As the faculty did not accept this ultimatum, the ten carried out their threat and abandoned the institution. The spirited way in which these young gentlemen resented the tyranny of their superiors must meet with the deepest approval. What is a paltry education worth, after all, compared with the inestimable privileges of frequenting the skating rink, and one's favorite billiard saloon.
